I, Jessica Engler, will be joining a team from Wisconsin (Alto Reformed Church and Emmanuel Waupun Church) and the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf to go to the Jamaican Deaf Village in Mandeville, Jamaica this coming January!
While there we will be helping them update their housing, school and church, as well as other miscellaneous tasks around the village. At night we will play soccer and Uno (their favorite game) with people in the community. I have already been learning sign language so I can communicate with the deaf community during my visit. I am so excited to return to the mission field after a much need sabbatical!
